Group,
Trying to familiarize myself with the software package, Road
Tutorial(SurvCadd 2006), having difficulty with getting exist
groundline
to appear on grid.
I save the polyline as something *.pro and get a prompt to open
existing
file
first. The polyline I just saved is now my existing groundline
along
centerline. Why can't I open that file?
Are you saving a polyline?
Or are you solving a profile from the polyline?
What specific routine are you using?

Hi Tery,
Just trying to save a polyline.
Profile from surface entities.
Appreciate your help.

Ok, just to follow, you are doing the following:
1. Selecting "Profile from surface entities" from the menu
2. Typing a name for the profile (or accepting the suggested name...the
file dialog says NEW ...not prompting for an existing file).
*do pay attention to the location (directory) where you are saving
this file.
3. Selecting OK on "Profile from Surface Model" dialog (some settings)
4. Selecting a polyline in the drawing
5. Selecting a group of objects that represent the surface (Plines and/or
3dfaces)
This solves a profile along the polyline. It is not really "saving a
polyline".
I am not sure what exact operation you desire when you want to "open" the
file.
One can execute "Draw Profile"...or perhaps one wishes to use "Input-Edit
Profile File". The latter is the the way to "open" the file.
