Plot Orientation problems

Postby Chris Musser » Mon Jun 23, 2008 1:53 pm

I am having problems plotting a dwg file from Carlson Survey 2006. I am trying to plot a 24 x 36 dwg. I am using a Hp 750C designjet that is only wide enough for 24" wide paper, and I need to print the dwg in portrait. I have tried plotting in landscape and portrait, but regardless of the orientation the plotter always prints in landscape. I have not had any problems with the orientation when I use 18 x 24 paper size. Do I need to create a custom paper size? That option does not seem to be available when I go into Plot Device-->Properties in the Plot dialogue box. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you plotting to a PC3 file that is pointed to a Windows driver?

Yes, I am plotting to a PC3 file and I think that windows downloaded the drivers when we installed the plotter.

If it's a windows driver, then either create the sheet size in the Windows driver prior to opening AutoCAD -or- when you are in the PAGESETUP or PLOT dialog, go to Properties, then "Custom Properties".

The "Custom Paper Sizes" under "User-defined Paper Sizes and Calibration" will be grayed out.

How do you create a sheet size in the windows driver? I have never done this before.

Start, Settings, Printers
Find the printer in question,
Right-click, choose Printing Preferences.
From there it will vary depending on the print driver.
