Selecting multiple Layers in Intellicad Explorer

Postby ColC » Mon Apr 27, 2009 11:57 pm

Has anyone discovered a simple means of turning on/off multiple layers in the Intellicad Explorer.

If I am in a Layout Tab and I wish to select multiple layers to turn on/Off in a current viewport. I have to select them individually. I can select multiple layers using shift and ctrl and turn layers on/off in all viewports but there is no facility to do the same for the current viewport. There is an icon for freezing and thawing on/off which only works on the all viewports column.

In the same area has anyone devised a satisfactory method of grouping layers. There is a group Icon, but it lacks the intuitive layout for me to get value from the function.

after highlighting the layers you wish to freeze/thaw, right click on them (on the layer name) and hit properties. VP freeze is at the bottom.

To use the regular on/off or thaw/freeze, highlight the ones you want to change and use the icons at the top (last three to the right) to change them all at once.

If you want to select all and freeze/thaw or on/off, go to the Edit pull-down and select "select all" and then go to the View pull-down and change them.

I know that will work with the column All Viewports. I am trying to select a group in Current Viewport. The properties screen displays Color, Linetype,Lineweight, Print Style and Layer Acivity Off Frozen Locked Print and New Viewport Freeze. No current Viewport

After looking at it again, I see that there is not a way to do a "Current VP Freeze" with more than one layer at a time. I will forward this on to a programmer so it can be added to a future release. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Does anyone know how to Sort Layers in the pull down tool bar (Entity Properties)? Somehow my layers are randomly arranged and I can no get them back to any order. When you finish up with 30-50 layers, it is very time consuming selecting layers on/off when they are not alphabetically sorted. Combine this with inability to group select layers in current viewport and it becomes very slow and tedious drawing a plan.

Any hints are welcome

Sorting Problem solved by closing down program and restarting.
