I'm a beginer with re-sectioning issues

Postby bikerman107 » Tue Jul 28, 2009 12:47 am

I have been working as a surveyor for about 8 months now but i picked up Surv-Ce farely well, we just got a new Leica 1200 robot and the newest version of Surv-Ce. The newest problem I'm getting is the message "type: no solution" is coming up after pressing calculate for a re-section. Our control points are all fairly far apart and their is no identical N E Z, can anyone help me out, its kinda getting frustrating.

Resection failing

If you tap Calculate on a resection and it says "Type No Solution" that would normally mean there is a bust in the coordinate data or that your Measured Data doesn't match your coordinate data.

You can open a new empty job and add Point #1 with North 5,000 and East 5,000 then do a Set Angle to the first Resection Point.

Go into Survey / Store Points and store the 2 or 3 resection points in this empty job.

Now you can go to Cogo / Inverse = check the horizontal distances between 2 to 3, 3 to 4, 4 to 2 for example and write them down.

Now go back into your Live Job and run inverses between your "Known Control Coordinates" of those points you were trying to resect too.

If the distances don't match then you have a problem in your coordinates or your Control Points.
