attribute layout id

Postby Bill Eggers » Fri Mar 31, 2006 9:58 pm

I've tried and tried to get a custom set of attribute layouts established,
but the layouts I've created don't seem to be used. I tried to create a
new support directory on our network so all users would have access to the
same one, that does not seem to be used when I run FTF, even though I
added the path to it in my preferences. I edited the layouts on the
individual workstation where they are saved in the support folder under
the carlson software, still don't get the layout I want. Where else could
it be getting this info from? Maybe I'm just being too stubborn in
wanting it to look a certain way, but it should Work. Any ideas of what I
could do different?

I have set up my support directory so as all user access the same

support directory. I don't think carlson fully approve of this
arrangement. I find is essential if you are to have consistency in drawings.

I have managed to change the attribute layouts. I have the all the
modified drawings srvpno1...10.dwg in the my support directory. Make
sure the preference-file-support path has the nominated support
directory at the top of the list. You can select to move up on the RHS
of the panel. This was the most significant modification I was able to
make to the operation.

I knew there was something tricky about this. The support directory the
attribute layouts have to be stored is the /program/carlson
software/support directory. We keep the survpno1..9 in the common
support directory and copy them to each machine in the respective
program directory. Not ideal, but it does seem to work.

Well I've copied the attribute drawings to just about everyplace
imaginable and still get inconsistent results. It seems like this program
spreads itself everywhere. I have changed these things in several places,
changed the path to the support folder in my preferences and still can't
get it to make them the way I want. I'm sure I'll get it all worked out
in a few years.
