Contour It  (CI07)

Two or more points exist with the same coordinate values.  Select Points from the Edit menu and remove duplicate points from the Contour Point List.

Duplicate points are determined by comparing Northing and Easting values only, elevations may differ. The tolerance for determining duplicate points (0.01 by default) may be adjusted under the Edit > Contour Setup dialog box.

To edit your point list in Contour It, select Edit > Points.  In the Edit Points window that appears, click the Duplicates button.  Duplicate points are listed in pairs, in ascending order.  To eliminate duplicates, delete one of the points in each duplicate pair by clicking on the point number, then click the Delete button.  When you are prompted "Do you really want to delete this row?" press Y or click Yes.  When you have deleted all the duplicate points the point list will be shown in ascending order beginning with the lowest point number in the file, click OK and Contour It will attempt to contour your data.

If you have successfully removed duplicate points, generated a contour map, and returned to Sight Survey, you'll be prompted, "It appears you have made changes to the list of points sent to Contour It.  Do you want to replace the original points with the modified ones?"  Selecting Yes will not remove the points from your data file.  It simply modifies the point set sent to Contour It to prevent duplicate points from appearing should you return to Contour It using the same data set.
