"Sight" Survey
(SS06)
What type of Plotter is recommended?
If you are in the market for a new plotter, we recommend an inkjet, laser or
thermal plotter, but not a pen plotter. Inkjet, laser, and thermal plotters all
support TrueType fonts. TrueType fonts are raster fonts and they will look the
same on the screen as they do on your printer.
We have numerous clients that plot from "Sight" Survey with excellent results.
However, since plotter problems can be quite time consuming and frustrating, we
recommend that you have your local vendor install and configure your plotter for
you. You may wish to go so far as to ask for a guarantee or a trial period that
your new plotter works properly within Windows and "Sight" Survey.
Not matter what plotter you purchase, you should immediately go
to the vendor's site and download the very latest driver for your new plotter.
Drivers are updated often, so even though your plotter is brand new, chances are
the driver has been updated since the plotter left the factory.
PEN PLOTTERS: If you are attempting to use an
older pen plotter, you may need to get special drivers for Windows.
