How to Change Symbol Colors

By default, “Sight” Survey’s symbols are drawn in dark blue. If you want to change the default color of any, or all of the symbols, follow this general procedure:

1. Start "Sight" Survey

2. Click Start > File > Open Drawing. When the File Open box appears, navigate to the C:\Sightsrv\Program folder and open a symbol drawing file, typically named something like Symbol.DRG. Ignore any message you might receive indicating that the drawing is corrupt.

3. Type ZA to Zoom All so you can see the entire symbol file.

4. To change all the symbols at once, type SF to activate the Selection Filter, and click Select All. Otherwise, select an individual symbol to change by clicking on it.

5. Type XT to change any Text Colors. Click the Pen button and click the desired color, then click OK.

6. Type XP to change any Polyline Colors. Click the Pen button and click the desired color, then click OK.

7. Type XL to change any Line Colors. Click the Pen button and click the desired color, then click OK.

8. Click Start > File > Save Drawing to save the symbol file.
