"Sight" Survey
(SS11)
All Text is Plotted Horizontally, or ...
Only Horizontal & Vertical Text is Plotted
If all or some of your text is plotted horizontally, it means that you used
non-plotter fonts in your drawing. Pen plotters are unable to print TrueType
fonts to any angle except horizontally. (This is a limitation of pen plotters,
not of "Sight" Survey. Inkjet and laser plotters are able to use TrueType fonts
properly.) Use the
Selection Filter (SF)
and the Change Text Properties
(XT) routine to
select all text on your drawing and change it to a plotter font such as Modern,
Roman, or Script. If these fonts don't appear on your list of fonts, set up your
plotter as the default printer in the Printers
Setup dialog box accessed through the Windows
Control Panel.
If you are using an HPGL plotter, you should be aware that there is a bug in the
HPGL TrueType plotter driver. If you want vertical or diagonal text on an HPGL
plotter, you must use a plotter (stroke) font as described in the previous
paragraph.
If you are using an HP Draftmaster, Draftpro Plus, or one of the HP DesignJet
plotters, you can download the new HPGL2 plotter driver for Windows from
hp.com. This fixes the text rotation problem with the plotter driver. This
driver should also work with any other plotter that supports the HPGL2 plotter
language.
