"Sight" Survey  (SS110)

Trimming Lines under Symbols

No Trimming:

When a symbol is placed using any of the COGO routines (such as Traverse (TR), Inverse (IN), etc.), “Sight” Survey never trims under the symbol.  This is because trimming is performed when the symbol is actually placed on your drawing.  Therefore, if symbols were trimmed within the COGO routines, all incoming lines would be trimmed but outgoing lines would not be trimmed.

Selective Trimming:

When a symbol is placed using the Point Plot (PP) routine, you can enable or disable the trimming of lines and text under a symbol using the Trim Symbol check box.

Always Trimming:

When a symbol is placed using the Draw Point Symbol (PS) routine, “Sight” Survey always automatically trims under the symbol.

After the Fact Trimming:

If you have already placed a number of lines and symbols on your drawing and you need to trim under the symbols that are already placed, simply use the Point Plot (PP) routine (with the Trim Symbol box checked) to place symbols at the points that need trimming.  Simply point plot a new symbol on top of the existing symbol and the lines under the symbol will be trimmed.  You do not need to delete the original symbols before placing new symbols.
