"Sight" Survey   (SS32)

Import AutoCAD DWG/DXF – Bad Header error  

If you receive a Bad Header Error when loading an AutoCAD DXF or DWG file into "Sight" Survey, you are attempting to load a AutoCAD version 13 or higher drawing.  "Sight" Survey can only import AutoCAD drawings through version 12.

You have two choices:

1.  If you have AutoCAD, save the drawing as a Version 12 DXF or DWG file.  If you received the drawing from a third party, see if you can get another copy saved as a Version 12 DXF or DWG file.   (We suggest DXF.  That format seems to transfer better.

2.  On the internet, go to cadopia.com and download an evaluation version of IntelliCAD.   

On the Cadopia page you'll have to set up an account (name & email address) before you can download the file.

IntelliCAD is an AutoCAD run-alike program.  Load your AutoCAD drawing into IntelliCAD, then save it as an AutoCAD v12 ASCII DXF file for use in "Sight" Survey.  For more information, see Converting ACAD (r13 and higher) drawings using IntelliCAD 2001.
