"Sight" Survey   (SS40)

Point Label - Size or Re-size

Point label size is controlled by the Text Size setting on the Properties window.  However, you may notice that point number (coordinate, elevation, and point name) labels appear smaller than your line annotations.  To offer a quick, visual clue as to the type of text you are looking at, "Sight" Survey automatically reduces the text size of point labels by 2 points.  For example, if you have specified a Text Size of 10, your point data will be written with size 8 text.

To resize your point labels you must first erase the existing labels, then reset the Text Size and do a Point Plot.

To erase the existing data:

1.  Type SF to activate the Selection Filter

2.  Click the Layer... button

3.  Double-left-click on the name of the layer containing the information you want to change.  The affected layer names are PTNUMBERS; PTNAMES; COORDINATES; and ELEVATIONS  You may only select one layer at a time.

4.  Press Delete

5.  Repeat steps 3 and 4 as needed for additional layers then Close the Selection Filter

To replace the data:

1.  Click Properties and set the Text Size to 2 sizes larger than you actually want it to appear.

2.  Set your End Pt. Symbols to None

3.  Select your Label Type

4.  Click Properties again to turn off the Properties Menu

5.  Type PP to do a Point Plot and select the points to plot

6.  Repeat as necessary to replace the required label types
