Using PDF File Drivers

A PDF file driver functions like a regular printer attached to your system.  PDF file drivers are handy for several different tasks:

If you need to send a copy of a map to a client. a PDF driver will save your map in an electronic document format that can easily be viewed and printed by your client.  Your client must have Adobe Acrobat Reader (a free download) installed on their system in order to view and print the document.

Another possible use would be if the need arose to plot a large format drawing, when you don't have a plotter.  You can simply save the drawing as a PDF file and send/email it to a service bureau or printing company to have the drawing plotted exactly as you constructed it.

Finally, if your attempts to solve a printing problem by redirecting a to another port had had no success, you can work around that problem by printing to a PDF driver.

Some popular FREE PDF drivers are: CutePDF; PDF995; and Win2PDF.

All of these PDF drivers may be used and evaluated as shareware.
