"Sight" Survey (SS78)

This file was written with a newer version of HighEdit

This error is caused by a minor upgrade in "Sight" Survey that incorporates an earlier, slightly more-stable version of the HighEdit text processor used in "Sight" Survey's Text Output window. If you load a job created with the new HighEdit engine, you get the warning message. Clicking OK will load your data, but you will not be able to read any of your old text in the Text Output window.

If you get this error, immediately type NJ or select File > New Job and DO NOT save your file. Now type SY or select File > Exit to close "Sight" Survey. Then follow these instructions:

1. Open Windows Explorer (Start > Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer or Start > Programs > Windows Explorer)

2. Navigate to the C:\Windows\System folder (Note: on some Windows 2000 or NT systems the folder location might be C:\WinNT\System)

3. Find the file HIGHEDIT.DLL

4. Right-click on the file, then left-click on Rename on the menu that appears

5. Rename the file as HIGHEDIT_OLD.DLL

6. Download the new HIGHEDIT.DLL file into your C:\Windows\System folder (Click here to download it)

This will download a self-extracting Zip file, highedit.exe. Once downloaded, double-click on this file to open it. Click the Browse button and select the Unzip to location as C:\Windows\System, and click Unzip.
