Field to Finish | 2008 Click to download | | Field-to-Finish in Carlson '09 |
The Field-to-Finish program has been a signature routine of Carlson Survey for over 10
years. This class will examine all major aspects of Field-to-Finish, from layered point
plotting by description, to symbol/linework plotting by both random (unspecified) and
defined coding systems. Linework by start-end codes will be contrasted with linework
by numbered codes (EP1, EP2, EP3, etc.). Special codes for curves, symbol sizing,
closing rectangles and other uses will be covered. Field-to-Finish is a major source of
automation for survey firms and for civil engineering and construction companies with
survey departments. At a minimum, it should be used to draw break lines for better
contouring and volumes. In its optimal use, it can “jump start” the drawing and save the
drafting department hours, even days sorting through the points to create as-built maps.
