"Sight" Survey  (SS106)

Drawing has Shifted to New Coordinate Base

A bug in the TrueCAD engine can cause your drawing to shift to a new coordinate base.  We have witnessed this occurring under the following procedure:  Sometime after you have re-centered your paper, you use the Undo command (OO) or you click the Undo icon.

To avoid this problem after re-centering your paper, save and exit your job, then re-open your job.

In "Sight" Survey 3, serial number 001103 and later, "Sight" Survey will provide you this warning when you have re-centered your paper using the CE command or the Re-center Paper icon.  (The message will NOT appear if you use the Start > Settings > Re-center Paper command):

Warning! Your paper has been re-centered...

DO NOT use the Undo command (OO) or the Undo button until you save your file AND re-open it!!! Using Undo after you have re-centered your paper can cause the drawing to shift off of the proper coordinate base.

To avoid the possibility of this happening, you should save this job and then close it and re-open it. Do you want "Sight" Survey to automatically save and reopen this job now?

Yes          No

(Note: Serial numbers denote release dates:  yymmdd.  Serial number 001103 means that version was released 2000 November 03)

To avoid having the message appear, see:   Shut off the Warning Message when Re-centering the Paper

IF YOUR DRAWING HAS ALREADY SHIFTED:  See Move a Drawing to New Coordinates to return a drawing to it's original coordinate base.
