Sight Survey

1. ASCII Import/Export: "Sight" Survey will return a Floating Point Invalid error when you are attempting to import or export an ASCII coordinate file. The error occurs immediately after you enter a target filename and click OK. After reporting the error, "Sight" Survey shuts down.

Work Around: If you continue to have problems, click here to download a copy of COGO File Converter. Load the software, then use it to import / export ASCII files to / from "Sight" Survey files. A documentation link is also provided on the page. It is critical that you download the documentation because some screen prompts do not correctly display under Vista, but using the documentation you will be able to know what they are.

Long-Term Solution: We hope to release (late 2007) a new version of "Sight" Survey addressing this issue. Old versions of "Sight" Survey (through version 3.0) and the COGO File Converter will not be updated. The programming tools used to create those programs are not entirely Vista compatible.

2. Can't Print Coordinate Lists or the Text Output: Vista is not compatible with the HighEdit word processing engine used in "Sight" Survey. This is a third-party product and as far as we have been able to determine the product is no longer produced and therefore is not upgradable.

Work Around: This issue cannot be fixed. To work around this issue, Use a PDF file driver (SS44)

Collector Connector

1. Collector Connector does not display prompts in Windows Vista: Certain prompts are not displayed correctly.

Work Around: Start Collector Connector through the Add Ins>Configuration Run Full Screen menu in "Sight" Survey. Click on the About tab, then back on the Send/Receive tab. This will activate most of the prompts. Download the documentation, or use the Help button to see any missing prompts.
